UK EU exit would be global economy 'shock' - G20 leaders




 
George Osborne: "This is deadly serious. It's about people's jobs and their livelihoods"
Finance ministers from the world's leading economies have warned of a "shock" to the global economy if the UK leaves the EU.

The ministers gave their opinion in a statement released at the end of a two-day meeting of G20 nations in China.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe turned 92 this month and this weekend he will be celebrating with a lavish party. The issue of who should succeed him one day remains a taboo subject as the country stagnates.
President Robert Mugabe is now 92 and has ruled Zimbabwe for 36 years. He intends to campaign for re-election in 2018 at the age of 94.
This has, however, not silenced debate about who should succeed him. Fierce wrangles within his ZANU PF party over who should take over from him one day have paralyzed the Zimbabwe’s social, economic and political development.

Voting is underway in Iran's elections - but many are still uncertain whether or not to vote. Conservatives and reformists are competing for support, and as Theresa Tropper reports from Tehran, there's a lot at stake. 

Women in chadors, Shiite clerics, and young men in suits. Their serious faces feature on the campaign posters stuck to the lampposts and walls of buildings that line Vanak Square in central Tehran. So close to the election, all of the city's squares are equally plastered with messages from the candidates.

An extraordinary congress of world soccer's governing body has elected Infantino as its new president. Infantino has pledged to implement a package of reforms meant to lead FIFA out of the worst crisis in its history.
Delegates from 207 national football associations voted on Friday to elect UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino as the man to take FIFA forward.

The 45-year-old Swiss-Italian won the election with a simple majority of 115 votes in the second round, at the end of a long day at Zurich’s Hallenstadion. Neither he nor the perceived front-runner,

Ceasefire goes into effect in Syria, new peace talks announced for March

SYRIA

A fragile ceasefire in some parts of Syria has come into effect as of midnight Friday. The most concerted diplomatic effort so far comes as the UN announced more peace talks to start on March 7.

The ceasefire arrangement agreed by Russia and the US came into force at midnight (22:00 UTC) across some parts of Syria.
