1. INTRODUCTION
The United Nations Association of Tanzania (aka UNA Tanzania) is registered since 1964, as a non Governmental and non-profit Organization devoted entirely to supporting the purposes and principles
of the United Nations Charter, and to the promotion of public awareness and understanding of the

We are looking for highly motivated, hardworking individuals to fill the following positions:
Position: Program Officer
Reporting to: Secretary General/ Coordinator
Location: Dar es salaam
Position Status: Full Time
Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension to 3 years.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementation of the MDGs2SDGs program
Writing program reports( Quarterly, Bi annual and Annual)
Formulating project work plans and budgets
Conducting monitoring and internal evaluation of projects
Organizing seminars, workshops and trainings
Conducting trainings
Coordinate project sites
Develop advocacy messages for the program
Conduct media outreaches
Conduct community outreaches in program sites
Form partnerships and networks with other CSOs within the program
Participate in the organization strategic planning
Other duties within the organization
Must be willing to travel from time to time
Supervise at least two interns and one program assistant
Experience and Qualification
Candidate should have:
At least two years working experience in project implementation
Sound knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals, National Development
strategies/policies, Human Rights and Climate Change
Knowledge and experience working with Local government authorities
Experience in working with local communities (understanding of different cultures)
Experience in facilitating/conducting trainings
Fluency in both English and Swahili languages(written and spoken)
Experience in project development / proposal writing is an added advantage
Good communication skills
Knowledge on the theory of change and results based management
Team work and leadership skills
Education
Candidate should have at least a degree in Social Sciences, Project Management, Law or any
relevant degree complemented by work experience.
An advanced degree will be an added advantage
PROJECT ASSISTANTS (2 posts)
A. Position: Project Assistant (Communication and Organizational Development)
Reporting to: Secretary General
Position Status: Full time
Location: Dar es salaam
Duration: 1 year
Duties and responsibilities
Implementing the organizations communication strategy
Coordinate UNA Tanzania branches
Plan for capacity building trainings for UNA Tanzania staff and branches
Organize press conferences, media outreaches for the organization
Assist the administrative officer in making sure the office runs smoothly
Assist the Secretary General in organizing Board meetings, Annual General Meeting
Assist in developing, producing and disseminating organizations communication materials
Making sure the organizations website, social network and other means of communication are
updated and are working all the time( this with assistance from communication officer)
Organizing team building exercises and retreats for staff and board members
Conduct membership drive for UNA Tanzania members
Plan for activities to engage members
Willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly
Experience and Qualification
Candidate should have:
At least one year working experience is desired, but recent graduates (with track record
experience) are encouraged to apply.
Sound knowledge of UNA Tanzania work and mandate
A creative and innovative attitude
Good communication skills
Fluency in both English and Swahili languages ( Written and spoken)

B. Position: Project Assistant (SDGs/Human Rights)
Reporting to: Program officer and Secretary General
Position Status: Full time
Location: Dar es salaam
Duration: 1 year
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist implementation of the MDGs2SDGs and Advanced Family Planning projects
Assist in the planning and implementation of activities of the organization
Assist in research/data collection for baseline management in the projects
Collect data for developing new projects
Participate in developing advocacy messages for the organization
Organize training workshops and seminars with the project officer
Other duties assigned by the SG or Program officer
Experience and Qualifications
Candidate should have:
At least one year working experience is desired, but recent graduates (with track record
experience) are encouraged to apply.
A creative and innovative attitude
Good communication skills
Fluency in both English and Swahili languages (Written and spoken)
Knowledge in Sexual Reproductive Health/Family Planning is a bonus
Human Rights/Good governance /accountability knowledge
Sound knowledge of the sustainable development goals and national development policies
Education:
A relevant University Degree (preferably in Project Management, Social Sciences)
